Il semble que les Supergrass vont se séparer.
Ça vous fait quelque chose ?

Oh que oui... Le groupe a su superbement évoluer. L'album Road to Rouen (2005) en était un bel exemple. J'ai lu que le dernier album prévu pour mai 2010 ne sortira finalement pas ?

At the time of the split, Supergrass were working on their seventh studio album, tentatively titled 'Release the Drones'. In early 2010, the band revealed that the album had been influenced by krautrock bands such as Can, and drone music, and that the members had swapped instruments on several tracks during its recording. Singer Gaz Coombes said of the approach to the album: "This record's actually been very collaborative. It's been cool to try something different and chaotic." Coombes stated that the album was "nearly finished", and it was scheduled for released in May.

The album was to be their first for the Cooking Vinyl label, but the band's split, announced in April 2010, cast doubt on whether it will still be released. According to bassist Mick Quinn, the proposed tracklist (although not in any specific order) for the album was to be as follows:

"Rock the Boat"

j'ai tous leurs disques , mais abandonné la suite , apres road to rouen .

personnellement , je m'appretais à les revendre , n'étant plus vraiment interessé par la brit-pop des années1990 -2000.

bon groupe , parfois le meilleur ( et là c'est vraiment bon) , mais aussi le pire (quelques insignifiants morceaux orientés trop "ados").

puis , enfin , je trouve dommage le changement d'orientation musicale du groupe apres "road to rouen" .

Oh ! Et si c'était finalement une bonne chose ? Mick Quinn fonde un nouveau groupe, DB Band. Et ça s'annonce très bien !

Mick Quinn formed the dB Band in May 2010 with bassist/guitarist Fab and Australian session drummer Miikey Dean-Smith. The trio have performed at The Luminaire in London and at The Bear Inn, Oxford where they were joined on stage by a harmonica player to perform original track "Bus Stop Shuffle".[40] The band describe their music as Spanish/Cowboy/Spacerock but are also known to cover the Yardbirds "Stroll On".

la musique que je viens d'entendre sur le site de ce groupe sonne tres bien ...

Un quelque chose de Supergrass, non ? Et les autres musiciens se sont déjà lancés dans d'autres projets. Gaz Coombes et Danny Goffey n'ont pas attendu la fin de Supergrass pour fonder un nouveau groupe : The Hotrats. Un album déjà, de reprises. Et ils ont aussi repris Drive My Car des Beatles, cher JB...

mais je trouve le groupe de Mick Quinn bien plus interessant .

dommage pour Supergrass mais si ça donne naissance à 2 groupes intéressants, why not ?
